Minutes:

The Arts and Venues Manager submitted a report seeking approval to establish two new catering posts at the Winding Wheel.

Catering was part of the planned offer for the café bar which was being created in the foyer at the Winding Wheel. The initial plan was to offer food, alongside drinks and confectionary, prior to events at the Winding Wheel.

After a review of the options it was agreed that the preferred option would be to offer this service in house. The catering offer would include freshly prepared food which could be served quickly and the Winding Wheel kitchen had been upgraded with suitable equipment.

To deliver the initial level of service the recruitment of a part time chef and a part time catering assistant was required.

The proposal would offer the Council the opportunity to provide other catering at the Winding Wheel once the service had been established.

The report provided detail on the financial implications and explained that the costs of the additional posts had been included in the existing budget for the Winding Wheel.
