That the Minutes of the meeting of the Appeals and Regulatory Committee held on 13 June, 2018 be approved as a correct record and signed by the Chair.

Local Government Act - Exclusion of Public

To move “That under Section 100(A)(4) of the Local Government Act 1972 the public be excluded from the meeting for the following items of business on the grounds that they involve the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Paragraph 1 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Act".

That under Section 100(A)(4) of the Local Government Act 1972 the public be excluded from the meeting for the following items of business on the grounds that they involved the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Paragraph 1 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Act.

Review of Decision to Terminate an Introductory Tenancy (6 -18/19) (A090)

Minutes:

Pursuant to Minute No. 42 (Appeals and Regulatory Committee) the Committee considered a request from a tenant for a review of the Council’s decision to terminate an introductory tenancy.

 

The appeal was heard in accordance with the Council’s Introductory Tenant’s Procedure. The tenant attended the meeting.

 

* RESOLVED –

 

That the officers’ decision to seek possession be upheld, but that the Council do not implement the decision to seek possession and begin possession proceedings provided the tenant makes payments of the current rent plus a minimum of £5 per week towards the arrears, until the arrears are cleared.

Review of Hackney Carriage / Private Hire Driver's Licence - George Derby (A230)

Minutes:

The Licensing Enforcement Officer submitted a report for Members to consider a review of the Hackney Carriage/Private Hire Driver’s Licence held by Mr George Derby.

 

Mr Derby attended the meeting.

 

* RESOLVED –

 

That Mr Derby’s Hackney Carriage/Private Hire Driver’s Licence be suspended with immediate effect and he be requested to surrender his licence and driver’s badges to the Council until such time as he had completed the required training, to the satisfaction of the Licensing Authority.

Application for Hackney Carriage/Private Hire Driver's Licence for Mohammed Imran (A410)

Minutes:

The Licensing Enforcement Officer submitted a report for Members to consider whether an application for a Hackney Carriage / Private Hire Driver’s Licence by Mr Mohammed Imran could proceed.

 

Mr Imran attended the meeting.

 

* RESOLVED –

 

That Mr Imran’s application for a Hackney Carriage / Private Hire Driver’s Licence be refused.

Review of Contract Hire Driver's Licence - Michael John Bradley (A230)

Minutes:

The Licensing Enforcement Officer submitted a report for Members to consider a review of the Private Hire (Contract) Driver’s Licence held by Mr Michael John Peter Bradley.

 

Mr Bradley did not attend the meeting.

 

* RESOLVED –

 

That Mr Bradley’s Private Hire (Contract) Driver’s Licence be suspended with immediate effect and he be requested to surrender his licence and driver’s badges to the Council until such time as he had completed the required training, to the satisfaction of the Licensing Authority.
