OFFICER DELEGATIONS: to the Chief Executive under G570D To accept any tender under Contract Procedure Rule 9 (Part 4 of this Constitution).

To approve the selection of the main works contractor with design components to deliver public realm improvement works in the area of the Northern Gateway and to note the approach to the funding of project on-costs and build costs going forward.

1. Approve the selection of Danaher and Walsh (Civil Engineering) Ltd as the Council’s preferred Main Contractor for the Northern Gateway public realm improvement works and the issue of a Notice to Award of the JCT 2016 Intermediate Build Contract with Design Components based on a schedule of works and Chesterfield Borough Council’s Schedule of Amendments.

2. To note the approach to the funding of project on-costs and build costs going forward.

Do not appoint and abandon procurement exercise

There are no grounds to progress this option as the most economically advantageous and affordable option has been identified by this procurement process. To delay or not to progress this scheme would put at risk Sheffield City Region Infrastructure Fund’s continued support and represent a significant set back to efforts to regenerate the Northern Gateway area.
