The financial offer has been validated by the
council’s independent surveyor as a good commercial offer,
the detailed contract for sale protects the Council’s
interests and the contract for purchase of affordable properties
meets the requirements of the housing service.
1. That, following consultation with Cabinet
members for Economic Growth and Housing, the signing of the
contract for the sale of land East of Linacre Road be
approved.
2. That it be noted and acknowledged that the contract for sale of
the Land East of Linacre Road will also bind the Council to enter
into a future contact with the developers for the purchase of a
minimum of 26 affordable homes, subject to the outcome of a full
planning application for development of the site.
Not to sell the land and not to purchase the
affordable properties.
