Decision details

To enable effective delivery of projects in line with the investment plan. Specifically, this relates to:
•The lack of take up of Decarbonise Grants and the high demand for the small business grants.
•Underspend following procurement of the Green Skills and Digital Upskilling projects and the opportunity to deliver further activity in the Future Skills Development Fund.

•To approve moving £50,000 of funding unspent in UKSPF14 to UKSPF13 (Business Growth and Low Carbon).
•To approve moving £12,500 from UKSPF18 (Greens Skills Upskilling - £2,500) and UKSPF19 (Digital Skills Upskilling - £10,000) to the Digital Futures element of UKSPF17 (Future Skills Development Fund) to enable further training outputs to be delivered.

Funding remains allocated in existing projects and the Council claims an underspend. There is an identified demand for the funding in other existing projects within the programme. This option will maximise support to Chesterfield businesses and individuals which will help support the local economy and therefore is considered the most suitable option for the underspend. Specifically:
•Funding remains in UKSPF14, and the Council claims an underspend. There is demand for the grants and a pipeline of companies that have expressed interest. The grants will support Chesterfield businesses to grow which will help support the local economy and therefore is considered the most suitable option for the underspend.
•Funding remains in UKSPF18 and 19 and the Council claims an underspend. There is another project that has identified that they can deliver additional outputs with additional funding. This is therefore considered the most suitable option.
