*RESOLVED –
1. That the submission of a bid to the Government’s Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme (PSDS), to carry out a decarbonisation scheme at Staveley Healthy Living Centre be supported.
2. That it be noted that an updated version of the report will be prepared for Council which will include the most up to date financial figures, following the submission of the bid document.
That it be recommended to Full Council:
3. That the submission of the bid to the Government’s Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme (PSDS), to carry out a decarbonisation scheme at Staveley Healthy Living Centre be supported.
4. That capital funding be approved, as a match funding requirement of the bid, the detailed financial figures to be presented to Council on 11 December in the key decision report.
5. That the addition of the Staveley Healthy Living Centre decarbonisation scheme to the capital programme from 2025/26 be approved, and it be noted that the programme will be amended once the outcome of the bid is known.
REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS
1. Seeking funding from the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, through PSDS Phase 4, will help deliver carbon emission reduction through heat decarbonisation and energy efficiency improvements, to reduce future environmental impact and the running costs of the buildings.
2. Reducing carbon emissions will support the aims set out in our climate change delivery plan and work towards the Council’s priority of achieving net zero by 2030.
