To move “That under Section 100(A)(4) of the Local Government Act 1972 the public be excluded from the meeting for the following item of business on the grounds that it involves the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Paragraph 5 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Act".

RESOLVED –

That under Section 100(A)(4) of the Local Government Act 1972 the public be excluded from the meeting for the following item of business on the grounds that it involves the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Paragraph 5 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Act.

The Deputy Monitoring Officer submitted a report for Members to reconsider the amendment made to the Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Licensing Policy (“the Licensing Policy”) by the Appeals and Regulatory Committee on 10 September 2014 in respect of setting a minimum duration of an insurance policy.

*RESOLVED –

1.    That the Council does not impose the minimum duration condition relating to insurance policies and paragraph 7.4 of Schedule 1 of the Licensing policy is removed.

2.    That the Licensing Manager monitors the insurance policy status of drivers and that the situation is reviewed in 12 months time.
