Details of applications for street collections from two further charities received since the preparation of the report were distributed at the meeting. Consideration would be given to publishing and updating the programme of street collections on the Council’s website.

Exemption from Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Licensing Policy and Use of Magnetic Signs (A000) Minutes: The Licensing Manager submitted a report to consider an exemption from the Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Licensing Policy in respect of a request to use promotional magnetic signs in the run up to Christmas 2014 in support of a public safety initiative.
* RESOLVED –
(1) That an exemption from the Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Licensing Policy be approved to allow the use of magnetic “Who’s taking you home tonight?” signs, with a maximum of one sign to be displayed on the front bonnet of a licensed vehicle.
(2) That this exemption be allowed up to and including 5 January 2015, and that a review of the effect of the exemption be undertaken. |
