Apologies for absence were received from Councillors Bellamy, Derbyshire, Miles and Niblock.

The Licensing Manager presented a report to the Committee proposing an amendment to the Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Licensing Policy. The report recommended that a £10 surcharge be added to the cost of a taxi knowledge test. It was explained that drivers had requested the facility to take their test outside office hours on a Saturday morning. The surcharge would cover the staffing costs incurred to facilitate this.

Members of the committee clarified that the test was only taken by each driver once and that the surcharge would be paid by all drivers.
