Question submitted by Kris Stone;

In October 2021 I contacted all Chesterfield Borough Councillors and asked:

'Later today you will have a chance to express your views on the Vision Derbyshire proposal being pushed by the Conservative Party. Chesterfield has centuries of decision making locally. Having services as local as possible is the best way forward and should be a key principle of any Chesterfield Administration rather than moving towards the end of Chesterfield

Borough Council. With these proposals outlined. Where do you as a councillor, think they are going? Structures should enhance the individual and smaller local businesses. Will the structural changes benefit or will it support the continuing destruction of local small businesses and the rights of the individual locally? You may want to show lip service due to pressure from the National Government but local Councillors do not have to capitulate. I ask you to think carefully about what you are putting in place, where this agenda is leading and the potential problems for local people and businesses.’

In light of the warning given to Councillors in 2021, what do Councillors plan to do now, to save Chesterfield Borough Council and local democracy from the effects of Globalism?
