RESOLVED –

That the minutes of the meeting of the Appeals and Regulatory Committee held on 13^th September, 2023 be approved as a correct record and signed by the chair.

To move “That under Section 100(A)(4) of the Local Government Act 1972 the public be excluded from the meeting for the following items of business on the grounds that they involve the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Paragraph 1 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Act".

RESOLVED –

That under Section 100(A)(4) of the Local Government Act 1972 the public be excluded from the meeting for the following items of business on the grounds that they involve the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Paragraph 1 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Act.

The Licensing Enforcement Officer submitted a report for Members to consider an application for an exemption to the Council’s Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Licensing Policy by allowing additional signage on private hire vehicles operated by Galaxy Travel.

David Lewis and Gemma Thompson attended the meeting on behalf of Galaxy Travel.

*RESOLVED –

That the concession already granted for signage on the two vehicles identified in the officer report is allowed to remain, but for the life of those particular vehicles only.

That officers prepare a report on a proposed review of the Council’s Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Licensing Policy in relation to signage, for consideration by this committee in due course.
