RESOLVED –

 

That the minutes of the meetings of the Appeals and Regulatory Committee held on 20 December, 2023 and 31 January, 2024 be approved as a correct record and signed by the chair.

Local Government Act 1972 - Exclusion of Public

To move “That under Section 100(A)(4) of the Local Government Act 1972 the public be excluded from the meeting for the following items of business on the grounds that they involve the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Paragraph 1 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Act".

RESOLVED –

 

That under Section 100(A)(4) of the Local Government Act 1972 the public be excluded from the meeting for the following items of business on the grounds that they involve the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Paragraph 1 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Act.

Application for a Private Hire Driver's Licence - Mohammad Shakeel

Minutes:

The Licensing Enforcement Officer submitted a report for Members to consider whether an application for a Hackney Carriage/Private Hire Driver’s Licence by Mr Shakeel could proceed.

 

Mr Shakeel attended the meeting.

 

*RESOLVED –

 

That Mr Shakeel’s application for a Hackney Carriage/Private Hire Driver’s Licence be allowed to proceed and upon the granting of any such licence, the Licencing Team to endorse the licence with eight penalty points, under the Council’s Penalty Point Scheme, reducing by 2 points per year until reaching 0 provided that no further incidents occur which attract additional penalty points.

Application for a Private Hire Driver's Licence - Mr Kurtis William Spence

Minutes:

The Licensing Enforcement Officer submitted a report for Members to consider whether an application for a Hackney Carriage/Private Hire Driver’s Licence by Mr Spence could proceed.

 

Mr Spence and Mr Banaris attended the meeting.

 

*RESOLVED –

 

That Mr Spence’s application for a Hackney Carriage/Private Hire Driver’s Licence be allowed to proceed and upon the granting of any such licence, the Licencing Team to endorse the licence with ten penalty points, under the Council’s Penalty Point Scheme, reducing by 2 points per year until reaching 0 provided that no further incidents occur which attract additional penalty points.

Minutes:

The Licensing Enforcement Officer submitted a report for Members to consider whether an application for a Hackney Carriage/Private Hire Driver’s Licence by Mr Ahmed could proceed.

 

Mr Ahmed did not attend the meeting.

That Mr Ahmed’s application for a Private Hire Driver’s Licence be refused.
