Minutes:
The Mayor referred to recent events which he and the Mayoress had attended including:
· Hosting pupils from Spire Infant and Junior Schools and Brockwell Junior School at the Town Hall for Local Democracy events;
· Commemorative events over the Remembrance period including the annual Festival of Remembrance and services at Staveley, Chesterfield Parish Church and Christ Church;
· Chesterfield’s Christmas Lights Switch On, alongside the stars of this year’s pantomime; and
· The launch of the “Be a Star” campaign showcasing small independent businesses in Chesterfield and encouraging people to shop local.
The Mayor thanked Members for wearing festive attire to the Council meeting to raise funds for the Mayor’s Appeal.
