The Planning Committee is responsible overall for the granting and refusal of planning applications, Listed Building Consent and the regulatory functions of the Council.
Due to the current Government restrictions in place to address the Covid-19 pandemic, the Planning Committee is meeting remotely with members attending the meeting by virtual means. The Committee meets every three weeks and meetings are live streamed on the Council’s website; click here for more information on viewing virtual meetings.
Committee reports are available for public inspection five working days before each committee meeting and we aim to publish the committee minutes within five working days after each meeting.
Speaking at Planning Committee meetings
Members of the public are allowed to speak at the beginning of Planning Committee meetings subject to certain conditions.
A decision on an application
will not be held up if any person who had given notice to speak is
unable to attend the meeting or is not present when the application
is dealt with. For further information download our advice note -
