The Planning Committee is responsible overall for the granting and refusal of planning applications, Listed Building Consent and the regulatory functions of the Council.
The Planning Committee meets every three weeks and has now returned to in person meetings. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, members of the public wishing to view meetings are strongly encouraged to watch the live stream on our YouTube channel.
Committee reports are available for public inspection five working days before each committee meeting and we aim to publish the committee minutes within five working days after each meeting.
Speaking at Planning Committee meetings
Members of the public are allowed to speak at the beginning of Planning Committee meetings subject to certain conditions.
A decision on an application
will not be held up if any person who had given notice to speak is
unable to attend the meeting or is not present when the application
is dealt with. For further information download our advice note -
