General exception notice

This item is subject to the General Exception procedure. It is proposed to take a key decision on the decision date shown below. It would be impracticable to defer the decision until it has been included on the next Forward Plan. This notice has been issued to the Chairs of the Overview and Performance Scrutiny Forum.

Reason for urgency:
The decision is required urgently and cannot be deferred to give 28 days’ clear notice because the property is currently vacant and is of high demand. To leave the decision until the next available meeting date of Cabinet would result in additional void time and rent loss over and above the loss that will result whilst the adaptations are carried out.
The family are currently living separately and in overcrowded conditions whilst accommodation is being sought for them and no other suitable accommodation is available.
To leave a high demand property vacant for a considerable period will result in other enquiries about the property and potentially reputational damage for the Council.
